Q: Why did we create JamsBio.com?
A: JamsBio.com was created by and for music lovers (from the casual listener to the obsessive fan and everyone in between) to exchange memories about life experiences and the music associated them. Have you ever heard a song that immediately sparks a memory? Of course you have… we all have songs that spark a memory and enjoy memories that remind of us certain music. We believe that people naturally connect their life experiences with music. No matter your age or background, the power of music to trigger a memory and the desire to share that story with others is universal. This is the essence of JamsBio…a website community where you can capture and share the memories and music that give meaning to your life. It’s quite simple really, but it’s a whole new way to experience and enjoy music… and meet others who share your passion.
Q: What is a JamsBio?
A: A JamsBio is the biography of one’s life remembered through music. It’s a chronicle of your memories about your life experiences… friendships, romances, travel, favorite places and major milestones… that are associated with songs, albums, artists and musical events. It’s not meant to be a list of your favorite songs, although your favorites will likely be included. Nor is it a string of music reviews about albums, songs or concerts you’ve attended.
Q: How do I create my JamsBio?
A: You build your JamsBio by writing about specific memories you have about music. Each memory is associated with a song, album and artist and the site makes it easy for you to find music you want to write about. The memory can date from early in your life or it could be a recent memory. The key is to build out your JamsBio with a collection of memories that when taken together do a pretty good job of representing a span of memories throughout your life. The ideal JamsBio will consist of 10 or more memories, each about 250 words in length.
Q: Where will my JamsBio end up, and who’s behind the site?
A: Your bio will be published on JamsBio.com, currently in beta testing. Jamsbio.com is wholly owned and operated by Mouth Watering Media LLC, a media company based in Houston, Texas.
Q: Is there a minimum age for the Music Writer Program?
A: Yes, you must be at least 15 years old to participate.
Q: What if I live outside of the U.S.?
A: We welcome people from anywhere in the world. At this point, the memories must be written in English.
Q: Who is Yovia?
A: Yovia is our agency partner. They are helping us administer the Music Writer program, arrange JamsBio events, and distribute free goodies on our behalf for program participants.
